MINIS PROGRAM

Our Mini Hockey Academy (ages 8–10) is a fun, engaging 20-week development programme designed to build strong foundations both on and off the pitch. At this stage, our primary goal is to nurture a genuine love for the game while introducing essential technical skills in a supportive and energetic environment.

Throughout the programme, players will focus on core fundamentals such as dribbling, passing, receiving, and shooting, all delivered through game-based learning and small-sided activities. Sessions are carefully structured to improve coordination, balance, and confidence, ensuring each child progresses at their own pace while feeling encouraged and included.

We also place a strong emphasis on teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship. Players will learn how to work together, make simple decisions in match situations, and develop an understanding of positioning and movement. Above all, we aim to create a positive atmosphere where effort is celebrated and mistakes are seen as part of learning.

By the end of the 20 weeks, players will have grown in confidence, improved their technical ability, and developed a deeper understanding of the game—setting them up for the next stage of their hockey journey.

APEX also offers a taster package of 5 weeks to make sure the Academy is right for you.
